My mom is famous for her hot mustard. She usually makes it during the holidays. I feel like I’ve turned into my mom ever since the pandemic hit! I’m craving her cooking and since we haven’t been able to cook together like we usually do, I’m making her recipes for her. My dad has been fighting melanoma and she’s been taking care of him so little things like her signature hot mustard, bring me closer to her.
This hot mustard will clear out your sinuses in no time. Enjoy it with some with ham, add it to your homemade caesar dressing, my friend told me that she used up the rest of her hot mustard that I gave her for Christmas making meat loaf…it has endless possibilities. At first, it tastes sweet, then you get a kick that keeps you coming back for more.
Here in Texas we’ve been snowed in for several days and what better way to warm up from the inside than with hot mustard.
I can’t make it with out thinking of my mom and that makes me happy!
My mom’s hot mustard

- 2 cups tarragon vinegar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 1/2 jars (4 oz) spice island dry mustard
- 7-8 eggs
Blend all ingredients in blender until smooth. Cook in a double boiler until thick, stirring often with a whisk. Pour it to a jar and give it to someone you love.
