I was born in Denton, Texas. I grew up in North Texas and now my husband Derek and I are raising our two children here. After graduating from the University of Alabama in 1998, I moved back to Texas and started my career as an elementary teacher. My children are going to the same school that I did.
During my start as a teacher I kept dancing and performing… movement is very important to me. I became a Peak certified Pilates instructor and more recently earned my registered yoga teacher (RYT200). When my children were very little I began writing for the Dallas Morning News “Moms Blog” and then later became a “teacher voice” for the Dallas Morning News. I’m very passionate about teaching children Pilates and yoga and was featured in the Pilates Style Magazine and also the Dallas Morning News on how Pilates can help kids mentally and physically. I’ve been featured on Good Morning Texas for wearing swimsuits with confidence.
My intention is to send positive energy out into the world. Everyone can do better, be better, and feel better with movement… no matter what age you are. Staying active with yoga, Pilates, ballet has been something I’ve practiced most of my life. I also enjoy being on a swim team, playing tennis, SUP (stand up paddle board), snow skiing and traveling with m y family. I’m a Julia Child devotee and a xenophile who loves finding joie de vivre with my husband and children.
