“You like flowers, so I have a gift for you: Petit Trianon.” ~Louis XVI to Marie Antoinette
Marie Antoinette spent most of her time at the très charmant Petit Trianon with her children and dearest friends.
King Louis XI offered Petit Trianon to Marie Antoinette, who made it her private retreat with secret gardens, a theatre, grotto, waterfall and small places of relaxation and enjoyment. She spent most of her time at Petit Trianon as a simple lady of the manor surrounded by her children and close friends, Princess de Lamballe annd Countess de Poignac.
My favorite person in history, Marie Antoinette. I can’t believe we were standing in her bedroom. Let us be grateful to the guardians of time, who preserve, restore and value history.
The arts are a secret language that Marie Antoinette most definitely spoke. If it had been a different time and she could have stayed at Petit Trianon, I’m sure she would have lived a long life being immersed in such natural beauty.
Her children must have been so happy running around the picturesque farm. Pleasure and happiness lives at Petit Trianon. It was easy to see that dopamine, oxytocin, serotonin and endorphins were released all day long in such a beautiful place to explore.
Three generations of French history lovers together were so grateful to see this treasure were Marie Antoinette once lived happily.
