My daughter, Zooey, is obsessed with all things Mrs. Maisel. We wish the show was still on but we have started our own tradition by making Mrs. Maisel’s brisket before she goes back to college. The brisket grounds her and reminds her of what’s important…family and food! When you care about someone, you make them a brisket the old fashioned way. I can feel my grandmother’s approval as the house smells like it would have if we were back in 1960.

Can you tell that she dressed up like the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel for Halloween? She’s an old soul with an talent for giving new things a sparkle again.
There’s a warmth to Mrs. Maisel’s era—lipstick on the rim of a coffee cup, music humming from the radio, and the comfort of routines that didn’t rush. It feels glamorous yet grounded, a time when gathering in the kitchen meant everything slowed down and love was shown through care and consistency. This takes you back there in the best way!

You don’t have to dress like Mrs. Maisel to eat like her…but it’s more fun.
Try this old fashioned brisket with your family and they’ll remember it forever! Midge’s brisket brings people together with the delicious smell that has family rushing to the kitchen. Bon appetit!
